The Problem We're Solving

In Medellín's Invasion Zones, Emergency Services Don't Exist

In the informal hillside settlements of northern Medellín known as invasion zones tens of thousands of people live in communities that are not officially recognized by the government. They receive no regular public services: no sewage, no water infrastructure, no public security, and critically, no emergency medical coverage.

When someone has a cardiac arrest, a mental health crisis, or is caught in a flood, there is no number to call. Government ambulances don’t enter these areas. Response times from the nearest public facility can exceed 45 minutes far beyond survivable windows for most emergencies.

Emergencias Apolo exists to fill that void. With 3 ambulances, a team of trained paramedics, and a 24/7 dispatch network, the program brings emergency medicine directly into the communities that need it most.

Kind Footprint donated 3 fully equipped ambulances to Emergencias Apolo, providing 24/7 emergency response in vulnerable communities.

Full-Time Trained Paramedics

Full-time paramedics deliver professional emergency care, follow-up support, and documented impact reporting for every case.

Hybrid Revenue Model

Ambulances support both humanitarian emergencies and insured accident response, creating sustainable funding for operations.

Mental Health Crisis Response

Our teams respond to urgent mental health crises in high-risk areas, providing life-saving emergency intervention and care.
