Kind Footprint Featured in National Television Coverage
A representative of Kind Footprint formerly operating under the community name Empower the Barrios was interviewed by a Colombian national television outlet to discuss grassroots emergency response, youth empowerment programs, and long-term humanitarian impact in Medellín’s most underserved communities.
Kind Footprint’s press and media presence reflects six years of documented humanitarian work in Medellín’s most underserved communities. Furthermore, coverage has expanded as the organization’s programs particularly Emergencias Apolo have demonstrated verifiable outcomes in communities where no other emergency infrastructure exists.
As a result of this track record, Kind Footprint is available for interviews, documentary features, and background consultation on grassroots nonprofit operations in Colombia. To schedule a media inquiry, contact the team directly at mees@kindfootprint.org.

Kind Footprint is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in California (EIN: 83-1522419) that connects international donors with rigorously vetted grassroots humanitarian programs in Medellín, Colombia.
Founded six years ago, Kind Footprint operates through a proprietary vetting framework the SITES methodology designed to ensure every funded program demonstrates scalability, transparency, efficiency, and measurable impact. All overhead costs are covered through a separate administrative fund, so 100% of project-designated donations reach the program directly.
Its primary active program is a partnership with Emergencias Apolo, a volunteer-driven emergency medical and mental health response organization serving approximately 100,000 residents in Medellín’s informal communities areas with urgent humanitarian needs that receive no government emergency coverage. In 2025, the program responded to 205 emergencies, of which 54 were classified as life-saving, including 23 mental health crisis interventions.
Three ambulances currently operate in the field. Kind Footprint has also delivered 350,000+ meals to displaced families during the COVID-19 pandemic, and created 10+ confirmed tech-sector jobs through its Recode the Future education program.
